From the El Albardinal Botanical Garden we want to make you participate in our work in the conservation and dissemination of our floristic values. Every month you will receive a poster dedicated to an outstanding plant in the garden with which we intend to bring our flora closer to the whole of society, highlighting not only its biological characteristics, but also its value from an ecological and ethnobotanical point of view.
For this month of March, we invite you to meet an expert in resisting hostile conditions, the rascamoños or asshole (Launea lanifera Pau), as evidenced by its abundant flowering in this spring that starts very dry.
Tell you that the El Albardinal Botanical Garden opens its doors to the public from Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and the visit is self-guided.
If you receive the "Plant of the month" for the first time, inform yourself that the El Albardinal Botanical Garden belongs to the Andalusian Network of Botanical and Mycological Gardens in Natural Spaces, created by the Ministry of the Environment and Territory Planning for the conservation, knowledge and dissemination of the plants and fungi of Andalusia. The Botanical and Mycological Gardens of the Network (12 in total) are dedicated to the conservation of threatened, rare and endemic flora, as well as to the enhancement of Andalusian mycological wealth, and are a magnificent opportunity to get to know in an entertaining way and comfortable species that are widely dispersed and in places of difficult access in Nature.
