Located at the mouth of the Albas River, to the south of the Sierra de Cabrera, Carboneras is located in one of the most beautiful places on the Almeria coast. The municipal term has up to 17 km. of beaches.
The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata Níjar also occupies areas of its municipal term, although Carboneras is not within the Park, it is a place chosen by lovers of this protected natural space for its proximity and immediacy and for the amount of services it offers , also in the Park and for the use and enjoyment of it.
We find the Playa de los Cocones that houses the fishing port.
El Ancón Beach is in the middle of the urban area and every year it receives the 'blue flag' of the European Union.
The Martinicas beach is located in the direction of the port area. It is very wide and has very fine sand.
But the best known beach in the area is Playa de Los Muertos, whose name comes from ancient times, and is that in ancient times the bodies of the shipwrecked appeared there due to currents.
Carboneras is also known as "el pueblecico", however it is a great town, not only because of its size, but above all because of the quantity and quality of services and because of its people, with a friendly character and welcoming attitude.
